Santosh_gc, I agree with you when you ask "how can illegals be granted a path to citizenship, etc" I am from Mexico and I am as much against that as you, or even more! All those illegal aliens are essentially getting a free ride and the U.S. is trying to act all "Mother Teresa" with them just to attract the vote of Hispanics. It's sickening!
At the same time, you do stereotype Mexico and that is unfair. Yes, the majority of illegals are Mexicans and that is simply because of geography. How do you explain the tens of thousands of illegals from Canada and Great Britain? I feel much better. These are trying times for sure.
Loads of work at the office, moving from one city to another and above all...this frustrating wait --- Its 2 much 2 handle. But I'm with u guyz...I think I shud just STFU N wait.

This is an ultimate test from above on our patience.
I waited for a very long 10+ yrs for my process to complete. Will you beleive that during the first 3 yrs of my application all the categories were current. The very next month when my labor got approved it went to retrogression. Before I got greened 2 weeks back, the dates became current for 3 times. I missed all 3 times. Last one was becuase of idiot lawyer (her firm is one of the largest immigration law firms in the entire country) sat on it and did not provide a required paper work.
After that the wait got extended for another 3 more yrs. finally got it on early part of this month. With the same process I was laid off once. Ported the process out. Then second company tried to ditch me the process. Ran away from their with the process. Got really lucky. From 3rd company I was forced to take a package and leave. Got lucky there too to port the case for a record 3rd time. Filed AC21 with the 4th company. Later filed I 140 again (i don't know why. The lawyer of the cmpany insisted). Got that once also approved.
Spend almost 38,000.00 dollars in all these various processes. After all these waited for almost another 2 yrs again and finally it arrived.....
So each story is different. Each has got its own colors. I have worst situations than mine. Just hang in there buddy. Your turn is round the corner. It is on its way.
I feel much better. These are trying times for sure.

Do u think UScis knows when we mailed in the application...can we just say that we r waiting for 90 days and talk to them. Any ideas!

I and my wife transfer notice by mail. I have no idea, why I received them.
I read on the forums where people successfully called USCIS and got their Receipt Number with their name and DOB. However, they mentioned USCIS that they were waiting for more than 90 days to get level 2 IO support.

Receipt Notice: July 03, 2008
LUD: July 08, 2008
Current Status: My case was approved and card production ordered on August 14, 2008 (got the email from CRIS) and still waiting for my spouse's EAD approval.

my 485 was filed with TSC on july 17 and have got EAD and AP but no FP so far.

Did you change your mailing address after you submitted your I-485?
Some time they correspond to your old mailing address even though you updated the address with USCIS.
Did you check with your Attorney? Is the correspondence address given is your mailing address or Lawyers? Some times Lawyers give their address for correspondence to USCIS.
These factors count where the approved mail goes to. I am sure you might have checked these before. If you over-looked these, then these may be the areas that you have to check on.
My 2 cents.

They say you will become actual permanent resident when you get the card The card is important.
You now USCIS don�t know when they will change their minds.
To better be on safe side to get it stamped on my passport. I took info pass on 8-11-08 it will be almost 30 days,
let�s wait and see

Americans and agencies generally better understand the language of lawsuits. Polite requests and working with congress does not make sense to them.

You are quite mistaken if you think I am going to delete your post just because I disagree with you. One of the things that I love most about this country is the Bill of Rights and the First Amendment that protects free speech. I like the idea the everyone can voice their opinions as long as there are no physical threats or intimidation.
That being said, we run the risk of having a thread venting frustrations against illegals degenerate into an anti-Mexican thread. We have had a lot of publicity, and many reporters etc read our forum to get an idea of what we are about. They can very easily read one frustrated post from an otherwise reasonable member out of context and decide that we are a xenophobic group. I edited one comment from Santosh's post; and deleted a post of Bkam's. Bkam's post, frankly, was offensive.
As a side note, I have quite the same frustrations against the "perceived" better treatment that illegals get. If you look at our "Parity" memo where we found that undocumented workers can self-petition for green cards and we can't, I co-wrote it. But let us focus on the positives that we bring and move on.

Was your I-140 approved also at NSC? Maybe that's the reason why you have an NSC receipt. My I-140 was approved from TSC.....
